The Isuzu D-MAX Ute is the latest conventional cab one-tonne light truck model range designed by Isuzu Motors Japan, the global leader in truck and diesel engine manufacture. While the D-MAX is a new model, Isuzu Motors Japan and their predecessors have been building diesel engines, predominantly for trucks, for 75 years.

By developing world-leading diesel engines for such a long time, Isuzu Motors Japan has been wholly focused on producing fuel efficient, yet powerful products that have cutting edge technology combined with durability and power. Powered exclusively by Isuzu’s premium, high-tech, common-rail 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, delivering strong performance with up to 360Nm of torque, the D-MAX Ute range includes Single Cab, Space Cab Chassis, Crew Cab and Cab Chassis models, with both 4x2 and 4x4 drive-train options.
Isuzu D-MAX is the most fuel efficient 3.0 litre and powerful one-tonne Ute in both 4x2 and 4x4 variants available today. Unique in its class, the Isuzu
D-MAX Cab Chassis platform has a dedicated longer than standard Ute spec by 150mm wheelbase, to optimize special body fitment and load balance.

1893: Our original parent company Automobile Industries is formed in Japan.
1922: The first locally built Japanese vehicle was produced, the Wolseley A9.
1934: Automobile Industries develops a Diesel Engine Research Division.
1936: The first diesel engine is built by Automobile Industries.
1949: Tokyo Automobile Industries is renamed as Isuzu Motors Japan.
1950: Isuzu Motors Japan produced Japan's first V8 diesel engine, the DA-80.
1959: Isuzu Motors Japan launches the DA-640 truck, rebuilding Japan post WW-2.
1961: Isuzu Motors Japan develops its first passenger car diesel engine, the DL-120.
1973: Isuzu Motors Japan responds to global oil crisis with first high-output engine, the PA.

Style and substance are the design trademarks of the aggressive exterior of the Isuzu D-MAX. The performance-designed sculpted bonnet sweeps forward past the turbo intercooler air-scoop, down to the unmistakable grille. With a short front overhang, high ride stance, a wide track and flared wheel arches, the Isuzu D-MAX makes its presence known on the road.
With features on the LS and LS-U models like projector lens headlights, chrome grille and body-colour coded front bumper and wheel-arch flares, the look is modern and urban. There are also good looking and tough alloy side steps and a chrome-insert rear step bumper to finish off the style. Unique to D-MAX LS, this model has a power fold in/fold out function on the side rear-vision mirrors, very handy when fitting your D-MAX into narrow parking spots. They perform as great as they look too, with chrome-topped scalps integrating repeater turn indicator lights for extra visibility and safety.

Inside the Isuzu D-MAX you will find a design aesthetic based on two simple concepts - comfort and convenience. Features like one touch power windows, electric mirrors, remote entry, and a 6-function trip computer make sure your drive is as comfortable and incident free as possible.
The fully reclinable seats, tilt adjustable steering wheel and passenger car like feeling throughout the cabin means it is also one of the smoothest rides in its class.
Standard across all top of the range LS Models is the electro luminescent instrument cluster, looking as good as a luxury car and featuring 6 day and 5 night-time dimmer levels. The LS audio fascia is fully integrated into the curvature of the centre panel for an up-market look. It has 12 pre-settable stations, MP3 and WMA capability, with four-way directional tuning and six speakers.
With cruise control on all but one model, leather touches on the LS range, and a handy overhead console in every vehicle, the choices are many and the comfort is high in the Isuzu D-MAX.

It has intelligent features like the ability to switch on the fly from 2WD to 4WD at the push of a button, climb and descend on impressive 4WD angles and gradients, and a strong truck tough Isuzu chassis.

At the heart of every Isuzu D-MAX is an exceptionally fuel-efficient, Hi-Power 3 litre turbo diesel engine. The engine uses a variable geometry turbo system to tune air intake in order to maximise fuel economy or torque according to throttle. It also employs common rail technology to deliver precise amounts of fuel to each cylinder.
That means low fuel consumption, emissions and noise; but tonnes of torque for towing and four wheel driving.

Whether it's work or play, on the highway or off-road, the Isuzu D-MAX ensures the safety of every passenger. Protecting the cabin are controlled deformation rate front-end structures, collapsible steering column and front wheel anti-intrusion chassis rail extensions, plus side impact anti-intrusion front door beams. Add the projector headlights that provide extra long beams, ABS with EBD, and airbags and you can play hard and work hard without compromising on safety.
Passenger safety is optimised through the use of 3-point safety lap-sash seatbelts Automatic Locking Ratchet seatbelts, while many competitors only have a lap-strap for the rear centre seat. We also have a High Density Polyethylene fuel tank standard on all models, ensuring no rust, lighter weight and higher resistance to punctures in an accident, and is moulded to fit efficiently in the contoured space provided.
